The boro needs to focus on adding more sidewalks in the older residential neighborhoods. Traffic has increased 10 fold since many of these homes have been built in the 50's and adding sidewalks could and will bring back the neighborhood feel as well as increase pedestrian safety.

I agree with this 100%. Focus on sidewalks, connecting neighborhoods to parks (I live across from South Park - no cross walks, no pedestrian access to the park from my neighborhood)...I literally have to drive across the street. Sad. Focus on bike lanes for access to the light rail. Most people can only access the light rail at park and rides. Develop the downtown area and incorporate the light rail with sidewalks, and bike lanes. Look at Oakmont downtown area. Litter along roadways within the borough is an issue!

There are multiple areas on the Route 88 corridor that could be made much safer for vehicles and pedestrians if sidewalks were preeent. One is from Milford Rd to Brightwood Road. Another is the area around Logan and Kings School Rds. Another is Beagle Drive to Library. These are a linear commercial areas and/or public transportation. Improvement would result in younger families and more walking. A further area is South Park Road from Drake to Rt 88 and another area is Baptist Rd from Rt 88 Hamilton Road/Cool Springs.

Increasing the amount of side walks or extended whats there at least around the trolley stops would be ideal. Specifically those that have to walk up Kingschool Road at route 88 after getting of the trolley. The sidewalk on the church side is fine, but the people on the barber side don't have room to walk. It's narrow to begin with and becomes so dangerous during rush hour with trolley people and increased traffic.

There havent been sidewalks in alot of communities forever and now the sudden need for them all over .....Having a sidewalk has NOTHING to do with knowing your neighbor ...get out and talk to people...we have people walking constantly in my area and walking dogs and I am always greeted with a Hi or hello

I would love to see more sidewalks. We are a community of neighbors who like to be outside and meet and greet our neighbors. A sidewalk would be helpful for neighbors if all ages to walk and meet new neighbors.

We live close enough to school for my children to walk, however because of a busy intersection and no sidewalks it is too dangerous. I would love for them to be able to walk to school - getting exercise and fresh air. I'd also love to be able to go for walks around my area, but living on a busy street with no sidewalks makes it too dangerous. Sidewalks would be very welcome!

I know this area is just barely out of our jurisdiction, but the intersection with Bethel Church, McMurray, and Drake roads is incredibly dangerous for walkers. I'm sure not many people walk to the businesses along there but I've made the trek a few times and it's abysmal. There's practically nowhere to walk despite crosswalks being present. This is also true where McMurray and South Park roads meet.
Now if only they revitalized that area and reopened the Drake T line...
